White Chocolate Buttercream

A creamy, smooth icing with the sweet flavor of white chocolate.



White Chocolate Buttercream


4 ounces good quality white chocolate chopped
1 cup (2 sticks) butter (room temperature)
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 TBSP heavy cream (more if needed)
5 cups powdered sugar (1lb and a cup)


Melt the chopped white chocolate in the microwave in 15 seconds bursts, stirring well between intervals, until completely melted. Do not overheat!

In a separate bowl, cream the butter and vanilla until smooth.  Add the white chocolate and cream, then mix until well combined.

Add the powdered sugar, a cup at a time, until it reaches desired consistency.  Add more cream, a tbsp at a time, if needed.
